Bundaberg and Childers

Yesterday we had the day driving up to Bundaberg, through sugar cane plantations which are all so neat and green. Bundaberg is where Bundy rum comes from!! It has a very old fashioned main street, which was interesting to walk up and down. Of course there are newer shopping centres there too.
On the way home (calling the camper 'home' now!! Thats a worry!) we stopped at Childers, which is on a hill so it will get any breezes that are around, but it would be very hot in the summer. It is also surrounded by sugar cane plantations, has quite a lot of back packers who stay there to cut the cane.

So these photos are of Childers. The metal sculptures are of sugar cane cutters, and the others are of the main street with the old buildings.
Today we have just spent in Hervey Bay, went to the Regional Art Gallery where there was a wearable art exhibition, and a spinners and weavers exhibition on. Also of course we walked on the beach. Still in our shorts, but not as hot as when we first arrived here 10 days ago.
On Friday we head back to Palmwood to be with Jimmy and Bel for the weekend.
