2 Michelle Drive, Point Vernon

Today we had an inspection of the empty, very clean house, before we get the keys tomorrow. So while we waited for the agent i took these photos. There is also a resident frog in the letter box!! This last view is looking across the road - we are on a corner. All the electric wires are underground. Very wide verges to the road.

By rhe seaside at Point Vernon

This afternoon we went down to the boat ramp at Point Vernon, tide was out though, but Joey and Tony had a go at fishing, which I sat on a rock and read and watched these birds! Pelican and Ibis, and the view of the boat ramp from my perch on the rock. Very distant hills are on Fraser Island. And this is just down the road from the house we will be moving in to on Thurday.

Francis family get together

My ex, Allan and his wife, Mandy were at Jimmy and Bel;s as he was wedding photographer to their friends Kath and Mick, so we went down to the Sunshine Coast to catch up with them. So here are a few photos. We all get on well together, which is the way it should be.
This is our last camp site before we move in to our house next Thursday, November 1. And this is our 'new' Kia Sportage car!!

Whales in mixed media

Well, I don't know how these will go, only small works in matts of whales, as whale pics sell well, but all the others are traditional or photos, so I will test the water!!

I haven't got all my painting equipment or bits and pieces so have had to use what I could get, but anyway, here they are for you to see -whether you like them or not!! A hot day today - 27 - just lovely - a day for wearing short shorts,, walking on the beach, painting in the painting shed, and then sitting in the shade. Who could ask for anything more?
Thats Fraser Island in the background.

Contemporary Art Gallery

At last I have found a contemporary art gallery at Maryborough, called Alpha 31 Art Gallery & Sculpture Garden - www,alpha31artgallery.com.au.

I managed to take photos of a couple of the sculptures by Monica Bayer, one is a mosaic dragon with leadlight eyes. I will see about exhibiting there, but if she has your work, she doesn't like you to be in any other galleries on the Fraser Coasgt! So will think about this. But here they are.

Crystal Castle, near Mullumbimbi

Crystal Castle is inland from Byron Bay, very forested area, very tropical looking. They have an amazing garden there with these huge statues, and chunks of crystal and amethyst etc.
This is the view from the cafe, looking over the garden, kangaroo paws in the foreground, and over the valley to the hills.
This is the Indian Goddess Avola........ (long name!) who is also Quan Yin to the Chinese, and Chemtezrig to the Tibetans. There is a temple at Eudlo, near Jimmy and Bel that is called Chemtezrig.. I have a lot of Quan Yin statues!!! Not this big though!
 The Bamboo walk.
 Rose Quartz labrynth .
This really cute sculpture is in the middle of their herb and lettuce garden.

Brunswick Heads camp spot

These photos are from our camper, one is looking up the river at the hills, the other is across the river to a mangrove bank where the pelican is, and the last one is directly from the camper, with the trees in front, and the river. It is REALLY windy here today, quite unpleasant.

Goanna at Brunswick Heads

This stalker is still following me around! I wish he would go away and camp somewhere else! He even has got my little dog on his lap. This is in the caravan park at Brunswick Heads.
Hibiscus flowers are in bloom here also.
A hopeful Pelican at Fisherman's wharf. He is probably still waiting  - don't seem to be any fish around here.
Ocean Shores beach, just over the Brunswick River, where the main shopping centre is. It is a long wild beach.

Well, it is a very hot day down here in Brunswick Heads, NSW. The camper is in the sun, so no shade and no cooling sea breeze. Never mind, I did see a large Goanna scuttling across the grass here which was very exciting.

Creations @ The Harbour

I was on duty yesterday afternoon for the first time at Creations, and there were a lot of people wandering through, mostly buying small things, but it was quite fun. Busier than when I was at Quoll in Hobart. Two days after i put my work in there, I sold an oil painting of Pincushion Island at Maroochydore, and i rather suspect a lady I got quite friendly with at the caravan park may have bought it. But that is some money to pay the rent for a few months!!

This was another sculpture from the Sculpture park - don't think I added this before.
This was a title of the Sculpture park I think - liked the name - would make a good title for an exhibition.
The other day i sat in the shade of these trees having my lunch - so looked up and took this photo!
And Joey had a bath the other day = trying to get away here!
The first 2 photos are of the main gallery part which mostly has craft works in it, and then the alleway between the craft part and the other 2 smaller galleries, one of which is where my work is, which is more like a 'normal' gallery space!

Point Vernon Cormarents

I know I have spelt that wrong, but we were down on the rocky shore at Point Vernon, and I was taking a photo of these Cormarants on the rocks, all looking the same way, then Joey chased them and they flew away, and I actually managed to photograph them as they lifted off!
This is a Pandanas flower or fruit at the same area.

Hervey Bay gallery space

I put my name down on a long waiting list to join Creations @ The Harbour at the Urangan Boat Harbour, but it only took a few days for them to phone me!!! So I have a really large wall space where I have 5 paintings on the wall, and a table we took in for matted works. I will need a longer table for later works, book, cards, bookmarks, dolls, scarves - maybe!!!
It only costs $10 a week - $40 a month compared to $80 or $90 a month at Quoll, and no joining fees and you only need to do 1/2 a day a month, but I hope to do 1/2 a day a week, to keep in touch and see how it all goes.
So this is my first display!! Pretty good space, huh? I will be on duty there for the first time on Sunday afternoon!! Yeeks!!
